STS-125 is due to go up for the hubble service mission.

This weekend, technicians at Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A will finish stowing the Orbiter Boom Sensor System in space shuttle Atlantis. In addition, they'll repair minor damage to a radiator faceplate on Atlantis' left payload bay door. The damage occurred last week when a wrench socket hit the radiator during payload installation.

Launch countdown preparations began at Kennedy on Friday following Thursday's executive-level Flight Readiness Review that cleared the way for a May 11 liftoff for the mission to service NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. The panel determined the shuttle's equipment, support systems and procedures are ready for flight. Launch is set for 2:01 p.m. EDT.

At NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, the STS-125 astronauts completed medical checkups Friday prior to entering the standard prelaunch quarantine Monday. They are set to arrive for launch at Kennedy next Friday.

Looks like someone left a socket behind....WHOOOPS :)

And this time, I REALLY think I've got the time right :)

Am I doing anything wrong here?

The first link started a file download which is very slow.

The other links open a window momentarily which immediately close.

They are streaming links, the first one being a windows media player link, it should launch your media player rather than download it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Due to come back in today....

Atlantis has two "landing opportunities" at 14:00 GMT and 15:39 GMT, but weather conditions could prove "problematic " for a return to the Kennedy Space Center.

Should they deem the weather too inclement, Atlantis has four possible landing opportunities tomorrow - two at Kennedy and two at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

Been pushed back to 11:40am EDT or 16:40 our time....

I'm rather nervous about it this time, they have a few issues so far...

1. Tile issues

2. Weather issues

3. Comms issues with satellites..

I can't shake the feeling that this will atlantis' last flight, I just hope they get the bird down...
