mathew
the spare ive got is absolutely immaculate along with all the other gubbings but found out a few months back that its completely pointless carrying it as it doesnt fit over my brakes. are there any steel wheels that will fit over uk brakes or would it be a case of buying another alloy to use as a spare? themodifiedkid
I ditched my spare as i needed the space for my I.C.E install to I just carry some of that tyre weld stuff in a can that would get me home if I was desperate unless I had a major blow out and in that case i'm fooked... lol
PhatB
I didn't used to carry my spare wheel, but ended up putting it back in the car after a blow out! Had to phone a mate who picked me up and took me to get a new tyre... the car was left at the side of the motorway with a jack underneath it for 45 mins! The Raven
I will probably be getting rid of mine for ICE. Good AA cover is always good
Ian W
I carry a spare wheel alright, though i've no jack in the car so it's almost pointless
bigbloodyturbo
So is there a difference between jspec spacesavers and uk/export spacesavers?
johnd-mkiv
I never used to have mine in the car
NeoFuture
well unless you have eom wheels, the spacesaver is the wrong size to drive on anyway
bigbloodyturbo
well unless you have eom wheels, the spacesaver is the wrong size to drive on anyway My 19's are practically the same diameter as stock 17's with stock AR.

Of course, it's the tyre diameter that matters and not the wheel.
merckx
So is there a difference between jspec spacesavers and uk/export spacesavers? Yes. 16" on the SZ up until May 96 17" to fit over the larger brakes.
Chingy
can of tyre foam in the glove box
Kev.O
can of tyre foam in the glove box Same here. I have two in the boot
robin
I always keep my uk spacesaver in the boot and I have had to use it. It's woth checking its up to pressure as well when you do the other tires. The foam/gunk cans are good but I hear they make repairing a puncture a pain?
NeoFuture
for the record i currently carry a j-spec space saver, which is going to be removed for my ICE, im fitting a car pc so need space, one of the downsides of having an aero is boot space
TurboBrett
one of the downsides of having an aero is boot space yes not that the hard top has loads lol:D i carry my spare and would like to not have to but what if...? i have also carried a spare, jack, locking nut key, for 8 months before realising i had no way of undoing my wheel nuts:D
