No boost in low rpm range

Hey all, this is my first post here. I have a 93 TT 6 spd J-spec that I got in December.

I have been driving it for a while now and have noticed something that I think is a problem. It seems like my turbos don't boost until around 3500-4000 rpm. I have very little pick up in the low rpm range and then when it hits 4000 ish you feel the surge.

I did some reading, and this sounded like the last guy had the TTC mod done. So I checked to see if the actuators were bypassed and they do not look like it. So I dont think the TTC mod was done.

What other things should I look for. There is a SARD Trigger Boost Controller installed and I checked the connections and it looks all right to me, but I am new to the turbo scene.

I was under the impression that I should be able to get a decent amount of boost under 3000 rpm and that the car should pull fairly steady all the way through. Instead it just pulls after 4000 rpm.

Any thoughts?

Ive heard of going with an electronic version of the TTC mod where there is a switch. Could this be the case and I just havent seen the switch yet?

I may snap some pics of my setup to help.

If you have the BC setup for 1.2 bar then you will get steady pull to 4 then a lot of pull...

out of the factory power is smooth.

do you ave a boost guage so you can see what is happening.

this would be a good investment long term anyway.
