ClaireRZ-S
sorry sweety but im 99% sure its your appendix. you have exactly what i had. unfortunately i left mine to late and mine popped inside as they were operating on me. i was on dialasis (blood cleaning machine) for ages after my operation. dont do the same thing as me, get to the hospital and tell them, make them check you, and get the b@stard thing taken out, all your problems are around that, trust me. i dont mean to freak you out but all i did was describe to you exactly what i went through and you say it matches. you will know its getting closer to pop when you start getting cramps that really hits you hard (and i mean leaves you motionless) and stays longer than you would normally expect, also your right side will begin to feel like jelly. great so i'm gonna go "pop" soon i dont want it out if its still useful

Matt H
great so i'm gonna go "pop" soon i dont want it out if its still useful An appendix isn't useful Claire, it's the remains of redundant stomachs we have as humans that are no longer needed but havn't disappeared through evolution. It was used for digesting grass and plant stuffs. We have another uselss stomach thing as well but that doesn't tend to get infect. Having it out is no big deal, routine. You will just be left with a scar however.
AndyT
great so i'm gonna go "pop" soon i dont want it out if its still useful Appendix is vestigial Claire. It's not useful. Adnan describes what I went through to a tee. Get it investigated asap. Adnan almost got peritonitus, when it bursts, this condition can be terminal. Sorry but very much better to err on the safe side.

You could well be right as it is in that area. Claire don't panic as I said earlier it could be many many things. I know people with IBS that would describe exactly the same symptoms as above and I can say hand on heart that I had exactly the same myself before other symptoms showed them selves(blood weightloss etc..) Definetly worth another visit to the docs to mention it though. Did he not mention appendix before?
AndrewOW
Yep, sounds like a grumbling appendix to me too. Nasty. Best get it checked sharpish. An ex-girlfriend of mine nearly died because she ignored the problem. It was that close! Hope you get better soon, and try not to catch anything while in hospital! JustGav
Doogie Howser MD is in the house http://a.abcnews.com/images/Entertainment/apg_doggie_071012_ssh.jpg I'm all for giving advice but stick to people with MD after their name, internet diagnosis can result in complete panic. Viv
Ive been in medical school (well dental actually) for 4 years now and the only thing that comes out of an internet diagnosis is panic and probably a misdiagnosis. Go see a real doctor.

jazz1
Welcome to my world iv got exactly what you are having i used to get sharp stinging pains etc, had ulcers, runs for 3 years. Anyways iv had a camera down the throat its not so bad but the backside is the worst as they inject air into you stomach. For me life has been shit and at times it can be depressing but iv learned to live with it. Try ACTIMEL it worked and solved my problem but rarely at times i still get runs and pain compared to before after taking one ACTIMEL a day:)
adnanshah247
claire i just offered my help because i have experienced what your going through. theres absolutely no need to get worried or paniced. get it checked up and best to have the appendix removed. i was a wreck when it happened to me. tablets etc. wont do squat against a rough appendix. every time you get a cramp its your appendix getting inflammed. i felt lighter after my operation

Even a bug of some sort can cause ulcers as the body begins to produce loads of acid to kill the bug/virus thus causing ulcers by burning the lining

Might want to change the wording slightly...specially after the seat discussion.... * searches for threads about seats * Claire, sorry to hear about this. I'll chip in my 2p worth: keep an eye on the symptoms, but don't let them get too bad. I'd speak to someone qualified about the possibility of it being appendicitis. Phone NHS Direct (assuming that's available in Ireland) if you don't want to keep bothering your GP, and see what they say.
