ClaireRZ-S
Hey folks just wondering if anyone has had an ulcer or colon infection. I have had this for weeks now i haven't been eating spicy foods or alcohol for a long time. It started again and i couldn't even stand because of the pain . I went back to the doctor and he thinks its my colon so i'm on another 3 sets of tablets. If this doesn't solve it just wondering if anyone has actually got the camera down the throat and what was this like because this seems to the only way to find out what i have for sure. adnanshah247
my dear, drink tonnes of water, i always get pains like that. try some gaviscon, trust me it eases the pain. stay away from hard processed food or food that will take long to digest, get a lot of fibre down (cereals). ellis
IBS maybe? Seems more common or even a lactose intolerance can cause bad stomach pains. Have you tried knocking off dairy for a week or so, so if that improves it?
Rob
Aye, does sound a bit like IBS. Still if its your colon, at least you won't have the camera down your throat, it'll be...you know...the other way.
Konrad
If it would be ulcer, tablets would work straight away to get pain away. Omeprazole is best one to quiet down stomach during ulcer treatment. If you still feel the pain, even after taking tablets, it is something different or your doctor is crap
Mcgoo
I feel your pain!!! I suffered really bad stomach pain for years. It would double me over on the spot when the cramps happened-it is soooo painful. Cut a very long story short I had Crohns disease. They tried to control it with steroids and other drugs, but couldn't, so I had a couple of foot of my bowels removed. That was nearly 8 years ago now and I've never felt better!! The camera- I would suspect if the doc suspects your colon, you will have a colonoscopy. I'm afraid that won't be down your throat!!! Seriously though, none of the tests for these thing are pleasant, but they are nothing in compred to the pain your already suffering, just a little uncomfortable. I hope its nothing serious and your tablets work.
ClaireRZ-S
God i dont want a camera up my A hole . i've had this since xmas i had gastritis and my god the first few days i was in agony the burning in my stomach was unreal for 3 days. I would drink water and it would burn the hell out of it. I've been back since and then again yesterday. I just don't go a day without some discomfort in my stomach. Lets hope these tablets work and stop it. I dunno what to eat though i mean the nutritionist has told me to stay away from pretty much everything it sucks.... Steviekid
Are all of your symptoms stomach based? If so, why on earth does the docotr think there's something wrong with your colon? Have you thrown up any blood?
pedrosixfour
A mate of mine suffers from Crohn's disease, the intestine attacks itself leaving the sufferer doubled up in agony. Now I'm not saying thats what you have but its one of a list of many possibilities! Whatever it is I hope it's nothing serious

Well i visit it normal but once or twice a week i'll have diarrohea i presumed it was from what i was eating. Yes have gaviscon. I had a sharp pain on the right side of my belly button this morning it was a quick short stabbing pain. It seems to be more to the bottom right.... Multics
I have chronic stomach pains due to too much acid. Good advice from adnan, stay away from ready meals etc and eat alot of fibre. The worst I had was 5 years ago, terrible pain every night, Doc gave me Omeprazol pills for a month and that was fine. Now I still get pains now and then and Zantac seems to ease them quite effectively. I hope you get it sorted soon, all the best
adnanshah247
RIGHT let me describe this now. when your lying down you feel kind of ok, normal, when you get up and arch your back or bend over to pick something up you feel a lil crampy on the right side. sometimes when your not doing anything, you feel like a really sharp 20 second cramp, stabbing arse pain that really at times does get intense but then after a while disappears like nothings happened. when you push it inwards it bounces back like a balloon. 3-4 days stomach will process as normal and then suddenly your rushing to the toilet even after you been eating the same kind of foods. Oh my god you explained it pretty much right . sometimes i wont have any pains some days if i eat something the stomach could feel a bit dodgy and after a few minutes go back to normal. its been bad yesterday evening and today but i presumed its cuz i hadn't eaten anything so i had something now and feel a bit better. adnanshah247
ok finally do you feell really really blooty at times, that blooty feeling always brings the crampy feeling with it. you feel like your pregnant on your right side because it bubbling out a bit. its really really random, two thre days might go past like your perfect and then all of a sudden it kicks in and your back to square one. Mcgoo
The burning and acid stuff sounds stomach based. The pain (bottom right side) sounds like the colon/intestine (same thing different name) or appendix which is located where the small and large intestines(or colon) meet. Google digestive system- it will help you to talk about it with the docs if you know what bits are what. The fact is so many things can cause this sort of discomfort and everyone on here will have their own experiences of something similar. Wait for the doc to tell you what's wrong before making big changes to your diet or lifestyle, as what is good for one condition may agrovate another. adnanshah247
sorry sweety but im 99% sure its your appendix. you have exactly what i had. unfortunately i left mine to late and mine popped inside as they were operating on me. i was on dialasis (blood cleaning machine) for ages after my operation. dont do the same thing as me, get to the hospital and tell them, make them check you, and get the b@stard thing taken out, all your problems are around that, trust me. i dont mean to freak you out but all i did was describe to you exactly what i went through and you say it matches. you will know its getting closer to pop when you start getting cramps that really hits you hard (and i mean leaves you motionless) and stays longer than you would normally expect, also your right side will begin to feel like jelly.
