gt4tosupra
My car is NA, and has a Blitz nur spec R rear box, and also has the second cat removed. What would i need to remove the first cat, and how much benefit would this give me? also how much louder would it make the car, as it is already pretty loud
TurboBrett
a full decat on an n/a doesnt give a very big power gain if noticeable at all however the volume gain would be large you should just need an n/a first decat pipe? im unsure about n/a's though tbh i pick my first up on saturday n/a aero
gt4tosupra
This car aint gonna stay NA for too long hopefully, i just have to master the art of saving money, to get the TT conversion, as the car is an SZr 6 speed manual, the perfect base car for TT conversion! I also plan on a more aggressive LSD
Homer
Removing the 1st cat on top of the other exhaust changes will make the car a little more noisy. The 1st cat on the NA is completely different to the TT one so will not be reusable. It's a pointless change to make if you are planning to change to a TT engine. it'll only make the exhaust even louder, with no real difference to power (air temp will make a far larger difference than a decat on an NA)
gt4tosupra
Cheers pal, will save the money and leave that one then! What do u mean by air temp tho?
Homer
Cheers pal, will save the money and leave that one then! What do u mean by air temp tho? Pretty much, lower air temp = more (free) power As intake air temps rises, the engine power decreases. It's one reason aftermarket air intakes that have the induction inside the engine bay reduce power rather than increase it. It is FAR more pronouced on turbo charged cars, but the same applies, in a lesser respect, to NA engines.
