I know there a couple of people in the RAF here so i was hoping to get some advise.

When i was young i was really intrested in becoming a pilot, i sort of forgot about it but recently i have been thinking i want to do somthing with my life. Ive been thinking about joining the RAF to become a pilot (dont mind what i fly). I left school when i was 16 with ok GCSES but id had enough of school and went into work so i dont have any a-levels( which i know you need to even think about becoming an officer in the RAF). I looked on the RAF site and they said training age is 18-23 well im 23 this year so i was wondering if i did some a-levels this year and show im really commited and applyed before my 23rd birthday i might stand a chance of training as a pilot. Any ideas on this or should i forget it do something else.

I wouldnt mind just being a comercial pilot but it about 90k even in the US to get the licence. I think coming from a millitery background looks alot better as you have the experience and all the flying hours. If only i just stayed on at school. :(

Best thing to do is ask the carreers officemate, In my trade, Gunner, the age was 29 years max, then 32 years max, but due to recruiutment and manning levels i have a 2 lads on my recruits course now one of 35 and one of 34?

so if they need the numbers mate they move the goal posts.

in the army air corp you could fly helicopters as a JNCO I know of SGT's that are flying the apache too?

Good luck whichever you go for mate
