Gerry
You can probably guess from the thread title - anybody out there fit their number plates with velcro. I'm sure I saw somebody at the Fairmile last month whip his plate off and change it. Seems a good idea if you have a show-plate. Not sure of two things: 1, Will it fall off ? 2, Is it legal (although if 1, doesn't happen, nobody will know) ! Cheers G
RED_ROCKET
would think it legal but nothing stopping someone from stealing your plates very easily either to pee you off or for more sinister purpose
caseys
Got some huuuuge velcro patches holding on my license plate on my front bumper. I've never had an issue no matter what the weather conditions are. When I last had a small roadside discussion with some Police they didn't mind that it was stuck on with velcro at all
L33
i seen a audi at a show once, and it as one of those where every thing had be rounded off and smoothed in. he had powerful magnets inside the bumper with metal number plates he just whipped off and there is no visible mess at all and still looked smooth . very impressive
Gerry
would think it legal but nothing stopping someone from stealing your plates very easily either to pee you off or for more sinister purpose I must be far to innocent I never thought of someone trying to nick them, although there can't be many crims who go round tugging at peoples number plates to see if they come off Going to pop down the shop to find some "Industrial Velcro"
patrikbrunt
I first fitted my rear plate with velcro... it fell off the very same day so I would not recommend it!! I was well pissed to say the least
bigbloodyturbo
You get different strengths of velcro and some of the stronger stuff is stupidly hard to peel apart so if you find a happy medium I can't see why it wouldn't work, I think it's a good idea. ivan
ISTR a certain young lad who swapped his normal plates for ones saying 'PIG' on the first Dragonball. I expect they were velcro'd on.
