scotty supra
I was just wonderig if anyone on here does pc repair as a job or on the side? A while ago my daughter knoched my laptop off the sofa breaking the metal bar running along the far side of the laptop which the screen is mounted to. The screen is now only held on by one of the sides and on the side which is broken the wires are also cut through, i believe the wires for the screen on the other side are also damaged. Apert from that it is ok i think but i have some documents, applications and pictures on it i dont want to loose. Can anyone help?
Scott
Laptop spares are often very expensive. You don't need to worry about any of your documents though. You can easily remove the harddrive from the laptop to recover all your documents
supra_aero
I used to buy, sell and repair laptops as a hobby at uni (quite successfully actually). If you search the same model as yours with spares/repair in your search you may have some luck on ebay. If you can get a cheap used broken model you should be able to repair and swap the relevant parts over very easily. Just make sure you remove the battery and power lead and give it sometime to totally discharge before taking it apart. I can give you advice if needed. Abz
Like Scott mentioned above, you can easily remove the hard drive & then plug it into a device which allows you to connect laptop hard drives (can be picked up from local computer fairs). Then you can plug into another PC an get all the data off. If your looking to repair, I guess you got your replies above
