mrboost
Hi Guys Paid 22 quid for a cambelt and 77quid for a drive belt. Going to swap them this weekend as I'd rather spend nearly 100 quid and change em now way before they should, rather than them going weak or breaking. Anything I should be aware off ? boost
Syed Shah
Unless you have quite a bit of time and are good at mechanics, don't do the cambelt. It is really long and hard job and not worth the effort IMHO.
Alex
My mechanic took out the radiator to do the cam belt properly...it may be something you should consider....when my rad came out so did loads of crap which had been lodged between the A/C rad and the Coolant Rad. Have a look for cambelt in the posts as a little while ago I found mine was damaged .... Martin and Phil posted some hints and tips.
Guest Martin F
Watch out for the crank pulley bolt, it's a barsteward!
mrboost
yeah I thought I might have to takle the radiator off so going to flsuh the coolant anyway. Only reason I was going to do it myself was that toyota claimed a full day. It can't possibly take any longer than 2 hours, 30 mins on MKIII.
