Nic
Model type and final drive ratios are shown on the right hand column on the EPC J-Spec http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/9813/picture2di0.png European http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/8536/picture3eg3.png http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1044/picture4nm7.png Edited September 26, 2009 by Nic (see edit history)

Homer
Many thanks all, that appears to clear everything up So, when Darren fits the auto diff it's going to be higher revving when cruising in 6th, but gear ratio's will be shorter, the car slightly quicker accelerating. I think thats the infomation Darren was looking for originally I'll crack on with the Excel file now, you guys will love it
Homer
To summerise the diff ratio's, can anyone spot any problems or gaps in this listing? The 6spd NA is unknown so if anyone can advise which ratio that should be it'd be appreciated. NA jspec (all years): Auto: 4.083 5spd: 4.083 6spd: TT jspec to May 1996: Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.267 (big diff casing) TT jspec after May 1996: Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.769 TT UK spec (all years): Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.133 (big diff casing) Additionally, what do spec do the 4.273 and 3.266 ratio's in Nic's pictures represent? Hermit
I read the EPC as saying.... NA jspec (all years): Auto: 4.083 5spd: 4.083 6spd: 3.769 TT jspec to May 1996: Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.267 (big diff casing) TT jspec after May 1996: Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.266 ... but no idea on the Euro models yet, especially the 3.528 or 4.273! The 3.266 is the same ratio as 3.267 (=49/15), except it's got the smaller crown wheel (203mm vs 221mm) and therefore smaller casing. Looking at the carrier assy in the EPC it's easier to interpret:
Hermit
Carrier assy EPC listings for European models... 'Supra': 'Supra (NATO)': Still can't guess what the 4.273 ratio came with, maybe it was a special NA hill-climb model
Wez
Would the 4.273 ratio be the quickest accellerating setup but lowest top speed and is for the larger or smaller diff casing?
Wez
Interesting read where peeps are looking at using different ratios from other Toyota/Lexus setups http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=37575&page=
Wez
Some other info, this is interesting Taken from http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=37575&page=7 Alrighty just found out something interesting for those of us wanting short ratios in the so-called "A" series - looks like the US Lexus SC300 used a 4.27... If you want 4.27 they also came out of US N/A Supras as well, so you can look there as a lot of N/A people switch them to TT and sell off the N/A parts cheap (although pity about the exchange rate now). Dash Rendar
Well, it looks as though I'm getting a UK auto diff fitted, but from what I've read so far, it seems that the diff ratio is the same as the J-Spec auto? I guess I can sacrifice the top 25mph or so... I don't tend to drive at 200 anyway!
Homer
Here's the figures from the calculator (Had to guess on the tyre size), it's a work in progress so is not complete! 6spd diff: Auto diff:
Wez
Nice work Daryl, any chance you could do one for the 4.27 that I mentioned in my post above

Dash Rendar
I was a little disturbed by the indicated top speeds, until I realised they were for 5th gear. Nice work Darryl.
