diff light

It should only come on when the differential oil gets too hot.

 

If it's on when the car has been stood and is cold, then it's either the sensor or the wiring at fault.

 

If it only comes on after a drive, then chances are that either the diff oil has actually got too hot, or the sensor is simply knackered.

It comes on when the car is stood and still cold, however this happened shortly after i had a new cat1 clifford alarm and i know they had to remove the dash, also i someties have to tap that part of the dash to get it to work so am sure there is an electrical fault, just wondered if anyone had any similar problems,

It sounds like you've located the fault. Perhaps you should take the car back to the car alarm installer? Unfortunately though, many of these so-called "professional" alarm installers rush the install and take short cuts - hence the fault you're left with. :(
