wilson4347
ive got a diff light on and have had the sensor and oil levels etc checked, could this be an electrical problem? thanks
Gaz6002
What's a diff light? Do you mean the traction control light?
SteveC
It should only come on when the differential oil gets too hot. If it's on when the car has been stood and is cold, then it's either the sensor or the wiring at fault. If it only comes on after a drive, then chances are that either the diff oil has actually got too hot, or the sensor is simply knackered. wilson4347
It comes on when the car is stood and still cold, however this happened shortly after i had a new cat1 clifford alarm and i know they had to remove the dash, also i someties have to tap that part of the dash to get it to work so am sure there is an electrical fault, just wondered if anyone had any similar problems, thanks for the help
SteveC
It sounds like you've located the fault. Perhaps you should take the car back to the car alarm installer? Unfortunately though, many of these so-called "professional" alarm installers rush the install and take short cuts - hence the fault you're left with. wilson4347
Thats the awkward part!! it was a mated that fitted the clifford and i got lots of extras like remote start at a very good price and find it hard to point the finger, i think your right though il have to get them to have a look, thanks
SteveC
Oh dear, I see it could be a little awkward! I do hope your mate has wired up the Clifford Intellistart correctly, or you could have a great deal more than a faulty diff light to worry about!!
