LOGIE
I've just been looking at some old threads and i found that an N/A AUTO can do 177mph top speed if its unrestricted? is this true? how much is it likely to cost? my 95 import has been converted into mph and the odo is also in miles. Ive prob read it wrong so could one of you supra gurus enlighten me? big thanks. Logie

SteveC
I think you'll find it's the TT (in standard form) that could possibly manage 177 if unrestricted.

stevie_b
Hi Logie, De-restricting a supra costs around £50-£100 for the electronic box-of-tricks. It's a fairly straightforward job to fit, if you're OK with a soldering iron. Be safe out there though. Aside from legal issues, when driving at those speeds on public roads you're really just a passenger. The UK roads are just too unpredictable: all it takes is for someone to get scared/confused by a car bearing down on them, and if they swerve into your path instead of out of it, it's game over. Rich8v
I expect the NA autos are geared to that speed. So if you could hit the limiter in top gear you could do that speed. But in reality the engine is not powerful enough.

tbourner
Probably from this thread? Shows the 2JZ-GE (NA) AUTO 4-Spd as doing 177 at 7000 rpm in 4th. As Rich said above it would never be able to reach it.
