I currently own a gt4, and if you brought a nice one circa 4k then spent 3k ish on it you would be looking at a safe 350/350 on stock internals (about the limit) this would keep up with a 911/new m3 evos with ease. And still return 30+mpg (320 miles to tank) on good driving. Have good grip and are pritty cheap to ensure with good old toyota reliabilty. Pm me if you need more answeres

Just a thought as no-one has mentioned it and i very nearly bought one a few years back and have been informed that they go like sh!t off a well lubed stick so here goes (Waits for people to mock)

The Mitsubishi 8th Generation Galant vr4 2.5cc DOHC 24v v6 twin-turbo..... think they're around the 280bhp standard, don't know what aftermarket kit is available for them but i'm pretty sure upgraded turbos and intercoolers will be knocking around somewhere.

They are 4wd have four doors and a big boot.

This thread sucks. Now Im all over the internet looking for an Aristo..... good thing is the wife likes it, bad thing is that I was leaning over to get a supra in future times when the new house is finished and the rx is gone..... oh and it will fit the 2 kids in the back.....

I was thinking the same thing. A rx7 will easily get kids in the back. I often had adults in the back of it. The secret is asking them to take their shoes off ;) , for some reason that does give that little bit more room.

Cheers Chris - after all the replies on this thread about the GT4, I'm pretty certain now it's the most likely candidate. I like the sound of them for the reasons you mention above, plus (relative) practicality and the fact that, as with the Supra, it's a little different :D

That you can pick up a well-maintained one for around £4000 is a major plus, they also *seem* less likely to have been thrashed about... A good Scooby/Evo seems to be a lot rarer at that price point, perhaps because they're better known.

I'm keeping an open mind about other models mentioned but it's ST205 GT4s I'm going to be looking at first. It won't be for a little while (have to get the Supe sold first :() and do some saving. At least that gives me plenty of time to research them!

Thanks to everyone for your replies, they were just what I was after - experienced viewpoints and different ideas. I'd like to keep you posted. And are Celicas welcome at Supra meets?:sly:?

Yeh his is a really good example, bigger turbo and a re-map and you will be nudging on 360bhp, or forge it and go for 450!!

And no worries mate, im up your way from time to time so next time ill send you a pm and you can come out for a play if you have not decided by then.
