A creative Graphic Designer / Art Director seeks employment.

After working full time at a design agency in Chester for nearly two years, I've just been told I will be made redundant. I was wondering if you good people knew of any company looking to expand their business with a talented graphic designer / art director with 20 years experience behind them. Corporate identities, website design, exhibitions, brochures, packaging etc...

I'm currently getting my book together ready for interviews, although looking at the news and reading the papers, I'm slightly apprehensive.

Looking ideally for full time employment in the North West area, but I'll take any freelance work available. I have a studio at home full of macs, so working remotely wouldn't be a problem (and after normal working hours too on night shift).

Anyone interested, please visit my website (that needs updating big time!) http://www.cubesix.co.uk or call me to discuss anything in more detail on 07967 811902.

Thanks for listening.

As a possible interim income, I know someone who does quite well out of a web site called deviant art IIRC. You're probably aware of it but if not, it might be worth a look depending on how 'sellable' your work is?

Good luck finding new work either way.

Heres two companies I have constant dealings with or through, no harm talking to them. Not your geographical area, but maybe freelance is something they may consider.

You're not going to be looking for work for very long is my feeling.

I'll be in the market for a designer soon, but I'm the other end of the country to your good self... and I doubt the budget I'll have when the time comes would cover a relocation.

I work with a few agencies from around the county for partner stuff.. I'll keep an ear out and let you know if there is anything up your way :)

Thanks Mike.

Work around here is very thin on the ground. Even the freelance circuit is quite, because clients have had their purse strings tightened by their clients. It's a knock on effect.

By the way, while you're spending all that time ploughing through CV's and taking time out to interview potential candidates, the creative work still needs doing, right?

I'm always here and can lend a creative ear if you're up against it. Happy to take on projects of any kind and work up to finished artwork.

PM me if you want rates.

Cheers,

Gaz

Nice one mate - I'll give you a shout.

We just bought another company and their sites are in a bit of state (just lifting the bonnet on them currently) so a spot of freelance might just be the ticket.

Thanks mate.

Mike, I'm excited already, and I haven't even bought the company!

I can design websites no problem, obviously taking into account the core reason for needing one apart from the web presence itself.

When you're ready, email me your thoughts for developing the company, it's role, target audience and budget and I'll look at it, look at it some more, and again....sorry, drifted off there. Back now!

I can give you some thoughts and ideas how you can spend your money wisely. Make your money work hard and spend smart. I work with very talented back end programmers who live in a monotone world and who abide by the '01001110101010' code of practice. All nonsense to me mind. I do full colour and fluffy stuff.

Be in touch. Don't be a stranger!

Cheers,

Gaz

No worries bud... could be a couple of weeks before I need anything though. It's all a bit softly softly at the minute...

It's always a bit strange walking into a place giving it 'I'm your new boss, hand over your code' :p
