Green Peace
Both my brother and i have had stomach bloating/stomach cramps for just over a year...but today I made an important discovery...I realised that we had one thing in common..apart from being brothers of course...we both have Diswashers and both use Tesco own brand dishwasher tablets. Its been very distressing for the last year with my brother and myself having every kind of blood test and some allergy tests..including tests for Stomach cancer...it almost lost my brother his job through the distress...but today I have simply washed my cups and and things in Fairy and not in the dishwasher...and the problem has gone! When I stayed at his place the problem was still there but when I stayed anywhere else or went on holiday the problem would dissapear so I thought it was stress related. Any one else had this problem with Tesco's own brand dishwasher tablets or any other product?
Guest Sakura
You may both have an allergy, and it often happens when you have an economy or other water-saving option on your dishwasher (because the rinse is less efficient at removing the phosphates in the powder). It's probably not exclusive to any brand of dishwasher powder, but you could try the ecological / evironmentally-friendly brands, and you may be OK. Jake
I've been sick before after drinking from from poorly rinsed dishwashed glasses and mugs. Not sure what brand but it certainly wasn't Tesco's own brand, it was one of the advertised brands. Also, one night me and the Mrs were both vomitting at the same time about an hour after having a drink in a pub where they took our glasses straight from the dishwasher. I don't know what's in dishwasher detergent tablets but I know it doesn't do you any good if it's not rinsed off properly.

Thanks ever so much for that Sakura...its amazing how something as simple as this can almost ruin your life...I'm still in the experimental stage so thats real good to know..I dont have as much a problem as my brother but...it just dawned on me today when I was trying to look at similarities of eating etc. At one point I thought it was a wheat allergy...think I'll drink beer from a can from now on he he. You shouldn't drink beer from a can, or bottles really. My mate works for shepherd neame and all the staff are told not to drink straight from the "packaging", the same applies to all other beer manufacturers. The reason is that rats are attracted to the breweries due to the wheat and water etc, lovely places for them to live. The only problem is that they then wander around the cases and relieve themselves all over the contents. Some nastey diseases can be caught from cans apparently....... ......I too was
