Supragal
Ok, on the hunt for a replacement cheapy run around. Looking through auto trader today (comes out Thurs I believe) and every suitable car I've found is already sold, this is always the way with auto trader. Any I've gone to see in the past that haven't sold...well...theres always been a reason! Anyone know where to go or websites etc in the Woking area? scooby_doo_do
Great trade Center in london? Thats normally quite good... Or the other place is next to the A12 towards colchester - East coast salvage i think? - They have loads of cars in there for under £500. sinbad
Wife has a 3 door 106 Aztec - Red with red interior. There is @105k miles on it but it has given her no problems over the last 2+ years.. Needs to move for about that money. About 6 months MOT and I'm sure it will pass MOT easy as it had brake overhaul last year and everything else was in good nick (our MOT's over here are much nastier than yours). Also, whats the score with getting one into the UK? Does it need re-registering and stuff. I literally need something I can get into on Sunday and drive away, end of. In theory anyway
Aerotop Dave
Local paper? Local supermarket customers adverts? (the little card things) Always good sources of very cheap cars.
Supragal
I know it sounds dim but I have no idea what our "local" paper would be or even when it comes out but I will be checking those out, probably in sainsburys! Figured there might be some magic place that sold cars like autotrader that I didn't know about or something.
MichaelG
That 1.4 H-Reg fiesta i had a month or so ago would have done you perfect at £300 ! typical timing eh............ How about your local auction if you have one ??
Aerotop Dave
If you don't get a freebie paper through the door again your local supermarket will have them. So... the local supermarket it is then! (btw, my Tescos has two freebie car trader 'things' near the door (also one for property). They sorta look like a poor man's auto trader, glossy cover but newspaper like inside. Maybe your supermarket has similar)
Scooter
I literally need something I can get into on Sunday and drive away, end of. In theory anyway If you are really desperate to be mobile for sunday onwards, i've got a polo (old 1.3CL) you could borrow for a week or two whilst you are looking for something? Its a reliable banger and very clean, but its got ZERO style, handling , acceleration etc........but if you are stuck its an option...... Timwildman
ad trader should cover your area: Ad Trader you just have to pay a bit for the phone call. Or go to the news agents and buy one for £1.50ish It's the best place for cheap cars because it's free to put an ad in.

Just been through the same things agaon, in fact I arranged to go see one tonight and I got a voicemail saying that someone had been round earlier than me and bought it been all through local papers and nothing... so I'll hit some more auto trader etc ads tomorrow and we'll see. sinbad
Thanks. Also, whats the score with getting one into the UK? Does it need re-registering and stuff. I literally need something I can get into on Sunday and drive away, end of. In theory anyway FYI You take the NI tax book and use a new car register form, rather than a change of ownership form. Costs @£25 no issues at all. I buy most of my cars & bikes from England and its never any hastle.

Supragal
errr. *cough* another Rover.... I didn't mean to, honest! 214si. 1994, 75k, PAS, no electric windows etc but hey, less to go wrong. FSH (main dealer) 1 owner from new, the guy was a nut for servicing, it must have been in there every week Few little things wrong like the central locking doesn't lock 1 of the rear doors, back box has a bit of a blow but it's got MOT until end March 2006 so I'm not overly worried. Tyres are ok but the ones on my dead rover are nearly new so I'll just swap the wheels over- result. Drives nicely, belts/ filters etc all look new and theres no oil in the water, which is nice Tiny area of rust on one rear arch but nothing really, no dents or other stuff, interiors stupidly clean too. I expect it'll croak it next week
