Guest willismaximus
lol well i've just took the cap off to have a quick look (Bottle was scruffy so couldn't tell otherwise) and it's well and truly full so i guess i can rule out the brake fluid level and i managed to avoid any squirting of any sort just got mucky hands now. Does this mean that the o2 sensors could be the culprit for the light aswell?
Guest willismaximus
Just spoke to my "friendly" local Toyota Dealership (Wakefield) to get prices for sensors and while i was on i thought i'd ask about diagnostics cost just out of curiosity. Sensors are £120 + VAT each!!!! And for Toyota to run a diagnostic they will charge £55 and when asked how long it would take he said.... "Well, with it being a Supra, they can be quite hard for the Diagnostic equipment to talk to if you know what i mean, especially with it being an import, i mean it could take an hour or a whole day depending on whether or not it all syncs up properly and gives us the error codes and that".... Now call me crazy, but if i can do it in under ten minutes using a smegging paperclip according to the earlier link then what exactly are Toyota playing at? I think I know where they can shove that

I think I know where they can shove that Price for the genuine sensor seems reasonable....NIC was once selling these for less...although there was a few weeks wait. Now either their diagnostics are way more thorough OR they haven't got a clue what they are on about. Why dont you confront them with what you know and see whether they are talking out of their backside or not....
Guest willismaximus
Given that this is the same Dealership that couldn't figure out why i have a tighter turning circle to the left than the right, i'm pretty sure he has no clue and is making things up as he goes.... Also, when i asked about the o2 sensors he didn't have a clue, he had to go away for about 5 minutes and ask someone before coming back and asking if i meant the Oxygen sensors... lol Need to find a garage round here i can trust, people have mentioned using Chris Wilson but he's just to far away to make regular use of as i'd need to take time off work etc to get the car to him. Steviekid
i mean it could take an hour or a whole day depending on whether or not it all syncs up properly and gives us the error codes and that That's garbage. My car's been hooked up to a diagnostic machine several times over the years (with me standing watching) and you can get results in minutes. legendswraith
Depends some codes need to be read whilst being driven etc or above a certain speed can't remember what its to do with but i remember reading it
Guest willismaximus
I thought that'd be the case, especially given that they're meant to be the Toyota experts blah blah blah..... safe to say they are a bunch of "I sleep wiv ma mama" type hillbillies who need instruction booklets to figure out how to take a wheel nut off and will no longer be getting anywhere near my car for any reason unless it is to kiss better the brake calliper that i believe one of their kack handed 'Mama's Boyz' damaged the last time i had it serviced there.
