out of interest do much people on here smoke ?

I'm sure you are referring to tobacco because I don't think it would be good for members to incriminate themselves on a public forum... :taped:

I started to read that, then got distracted by an ad on the tele, I did go back and read it all but I totally forget what it said.

Nope, definitely not a smoker...

 Yep, thats about right!

I don't smoke weed anymore as it's illegal and being a decent law abiding citizen that would be wrong. Instead I now drink 10 pints of cheap strong larger each evening, it's legal so must be okay

Hemp is a very useful plant, many uses for it that are positive to the environment. It grows fast, so plenty supply, bette than trees. Hemp paper is easier made, not requiring many of the toxic chemicals that are used in paper production today.

hemp protein (which i take for my training) is one of the best proteins witha great b.v (biological value). it could be used as food aid, better than the toxic monsanto gmo food aid given to the needy now. that is harmful.

cannabis is one of the best painkillers out there, used for ms aids/hiv and a plethora of medical ailments. leagl in many states in us with a prescription.

I aggree with the article, there are many books on th subject, and as it states money and influence of large corporations and their corporate controlled media, supresses it's true value and benifits, demonising it and never give a fair view, the reasons given for why it is bad is a joke, much worse things around, alcohol for one, look at the problems that creates.

true saying god made weed and man made booze.

My friend shows me all kinds of stuff like this. It's a real eye opener, but you need an open mind. Once you realise that everything in the world revolves around big companies (Banks, Oil companies, Government, etc) making money and staying in power, telling you what you can and cannot do, and dumbing you down so you're not intelligent enough to question anything, then everything seems to make a lot more sense, and life is just a big joke.

Hemp, from what I've found out, seems to be an amazing plant! I like how it's described as 'alien' as it is unlike any other plant on the planet. How something that grows out of the floor can be made illegal is beyond me, yet chemicals and man-made drugs and alcohol with worse side effects are legal to use and encouraged.

For those of you who started to read the article and then were distracted by 'something shiny', you're a prime example of why things are like they are. You've been brainwashed to ignore anything that questions what you've been told either in school, by the media, or by anyone with any kind of authority. Anything that contradicts what you've been told must be rubbish, some kind of conspiracy which is a load of nonsense. That's why things will never change, we'll always be oppressed and life will always be a miserable struggle, because you accept what you're given. There is no 'outside of the box' for you.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in legalisation (or at least de-criminalisation) and I think the Government's missing a trick on the potential income from taxation/duty on it. The medical benefits from it are amazing too. The irony is that the majority of people that are open minded about it and care enough to do something about it are also the same people that can't really be arsed to do anything about it and forget a lot of what they've read.

I don't sign up to the great big conspiracy theory, where the oil companies control everything, we're all sheep, life's a drudgery etc. Fair enough, early propaganda was misleading, but to be fair the authorities of the time were also fairly ignorant of the facts too. We're more enlightened now, and most intelligent people can make their own minds up about what's fact and what's fiction.

Sort of on the same topic, Mr Nice is due out sometime soon, with Rhys Evans as Howard Marks, looking forward to going to see that (with a big pick and mix, popcorn, nachos and coke...) If you've not read the book Benkei, I'd recommend it highly, it's an awesome read. His other book (dope stories) is very interesting too.

There is a bit of difference between "hemp" and "cannabis", same plant species, however traditional hemp has no physco-active properties, and has been used in MANY products and it isn't illegal. You can even buy hemp products from The Body Shop.
