j80leo
It always make me laugh when people post threads up about speeding and someone else gets on there high horse saying well you should not be speeding anyway. supra_aero
I'll throw in my free useful advice. We all hate those average speed limit cameras on motorways. Did you know if you switch lanes between the average speed cameras it can't keep track of your speed yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Burn baby! I have tried it and yes it does work. However, I will not be held responsible for any fines you receive if they update their cameras/systems etc. . I know the above is or at least was true as one of my best mates mum's issues the fines

So everyone on here drives to all the speed limits Yeh right:innocent: That very much depends on the road, speed limit and driving conditions doesn't it? Excessive speed in a built up area is very much different to speeding on a car free stretch of dual carriageway or motorway. I know someone who never exceeds the speed limit. Lbm
For the First time in 6 years I have been caught speeding 74mph in 60 zone. I personally believe I was doing 65 but it doesnt matter. Just thought I would post this see if there could be anyway out of it. I got caught by a speed gun no pigs involved. It's alright folks he's dyslexic. Re-reading it - he meant officer of the law. i was under the impression you can go 5mph max above the speed limit before points are involved??? scary to think a couple of mph can cost a licence- and what about aftermarket (bigger) wheels affecting the speedo? surley that comes up as something you can't change? i hate this country Ueah this country sucks ass. I hear the highways in Afghanistan go on for miles and are a delight to drive. Btw where did you get the 5mph thing from? No, the limit the police are told to play with (rule of thumb) is 10% + 2. In a 30 limit that makes it 35, in a 70 its 79 etc etc etc. They can nail you if they want to for 1mph over 30 though. I was done by a mobile speed trap in Northants for doing 35 in a 30mph. I was offered the £60 fine and a little seminar instead of points. id love to say unlucky but i got done for using a phone and got slated on here so tough, wait till LBM gets on here They're watching you. Just ask imi. I'll throw in my free useful advice. We all hate those average speed limit cameras on motorways. You can always try it and let me know if it still works . I don't want to give details out on a public forum as to why I know it does work or at least used to. Guest SupraTroopa
Apparently the speed trap tolerance is 10% and can be anything from 0 extra to 3mph extra depending on the county the police operate in and their policy. This is just what I was told on my speeding seminar I attended about a year ago For instance, Bristol area is 10% + 2mph limit. Some counties such as North Wales (maybe south wales? Cant remember!) have a zero tolerance on this so they just have the basic 10% tolerance. I wouldn't recommend going the bit extra over the speed limit and risking it however as has been mentioned about the uncalibrated speedos
Lbm
You can always try it and let me know if it still works . Ok then I don't want to give details out on a public forum as to why I know it does work... Couple of things... However, I will not be held responsible for any fines you receive if they update their cameras/systems etc. . I know the above is or at least was true as one of my best mates mum's issues the fines I have tried it and yes it does work... ...or at least used to. Which one is it? Did your friend's mum blab and then all the engineers overheard this and changed the entire system to catch those pesky lane changers? supra_aero
I fail to see the confusion Mr LBM. They all tell the same story. I am not prepared to state when I last tested the method for obvious reasons. Since I knew it worked and spoke with the mothers son last on the topic we established it worked and tested it shortly thereafter. It has been a few months since I have had need to test it or try it, and consequently discuss it. Thus I am unaware if it still works anymore, as I have no idea if they realised this loop hole was being exploited. Surely you must've have noticed many cars doing 70mph through the 50mph zones?! supra_aero
Anyway, not goint to argue or discuss it on a public forum except for my final point. A mate of mine, would have deliberately told me a lie, which was passed down by his mother. This was told in a deliberate attempt to catch more speeders and screw hers sons best friends. Yes, its a myth. He was jealous of my supra and wanted to see me banned for life from driving. And that was sarcasm incase you didn't notice. supra_aero
That's why your best mate's mum (I love that expression) has a job. lol, I know I said I wouldn't comment but I can't resist. Anyway, I did some research on the topic (afterall I am a research assistant by day job), and it WAS indeed true but as I suspected they realised this loophole existed and the new camera programs no longer get fooled by lane changes. oh well, ..n/m. Apologies LBM and Ian, and the rest for getting your hopes up. At least I had my fun when I could
