Wez
Hey All, The wiring loom that runs along the back of the dash for the heater controls and dials etc, does it connect to the chassis on each side of the car? The bit that goes behind the speedo appears to run down and connect to the fuse box area in the drivers foot well, then right on the other side there are more connections for things like the electric window and central locking controllers. I am half way through pulling it out as I only need to keep about 5 plugs on it, I have the whole middle section free and the bit behind the speedo. Does anyone have a pic of the loom outside of the car laid out?
Andy Blyth
Does this help at all? I know it's not terribly detailed, but does show rough routes and positions.

Homer
Wez, I was just about to say take a look at Jezz's heater matrix swap thread as it shows many of the fixing points. Looks like it's solved now though.
Wez
Looks like I only have the plugs at each end to sort and it should come out, I freed up the rest of it earlier this evening.

JustGav
I managed to get the loom out yesterday, wahooo Does anyone have the schematics for it? I've got bits and pieces of diagrams, what are you after in particular?
Wez
I've got bits and pieces of diagrams, what are you after in particular? Need all the wiring for the dash dials etc so I can wire in my DASH2, so indicators, fuel level etc etc. Also want to know which wires from the heater controls would control the small fan on the rad. When you disconnect the heater/ac controls the fan runs constant which means some form of control for it is in the loom somewhere. It would also help if I knew what wiring was going through to the doors as my doors will end up with no electrics in them at all, the alarm switchs do not run through the doors but in the car from memory. Basically a complete schematic would be ideal but these would get me started.
JustGav
For a start.... http://www.slipstreem.net/mkivsupra/manuals/Wiring%2520Diagrams.pdf Might need to do some mirroring due to it being a LHD manual

Wez
Hmmmmm, the wiring in the diagrams dont match my car, I am guessing there is a difference for jspec

Homer
The 'CJ' manuals are still here if you want to borrow them Wes, they cover the wiring systems in extensive detail.
Wez
Thanks guys, the ones that are confusing me at the moment are a green/pink on the stereo plug and which wire controls the rad fan relay

Wez
Hi The three white connectors under the heater controll unit do you know what they are for Many thanks mark Two large ones for the stereo connectors that would either connect to the stock stereo or an ISO adapter, the other one is for the sig lighter I think. Thanks mark I wouldnt just cut as some will go live with ignition on, you need to pull the loom and trace it back and remove from source, I see no point in just chopping the end off.
