CardiffSupra
Hi guys, Just looking for some advice, im not sure if im being stupid or not. Me and the misses booked a Holiday to Cyprus 2weeks ago with Thomascook.com, We have had all the info back and this is what it said. Holiday 7 Nights: Leaving Cardiff at 19:00 Sunday: Lands Cyprus 00:05 Monday. Leaving Cyprus at 02:00 Sunday: Lands Cardiff 7:00. Now someone correct me if im wrong but thats not 7 Nights is it? We don't see any of Sunday at all. The Hotel is booked for 7 nights but we are not there the full 7 nights. We have been into Thomas cook and they have said there is nothing that can do about the flight times. The lady in the shop also said it has happend to her. There was no flight times given to us when we booked it just said 7 Nights. I feel like iv been ripped off, a weeks holiday you expect to be there every day of the week. Any Advice? Cheers Gareth. stevie_b
Hmmm, does the small print say anything? TC *could* argue that your holiday starts at 1900 on Sunday when the plane takes off. If so, they've got you for 7 nights, but you just won't be in the hotel bed for all of those. I doubt whether there's anything you can do about it. jacko
Well if you count the night that you get there then it is 7 nights really, as it is the night of sunday - monday. So you have 1 Night you get there 2 Monday 3 Tuesday 4 Wednesday 5 Thursday 6 Friday 7 Saturday But i know what you mean, you feel like you've missed a day you have paid for

scubaman
Its a VERY common thing for travel agents to do I'm afraid!
JamesC
Yeah it's happened to me a few times. On the other hand though if it was a normal hotel which you paid for 6 nights you wouldn't be able to check in until afer 3pm on the Monday. So you are getting the room for 7 nights as you can go straight to your room when you get there. Although i still agree with you that it is a bit of a p*ss take. Lbm
I guess the lesson is check the flight times, then check them again before paying.

ilicos
I think the important thing to check, is the check out time at the hotel on the Saturday. If it is still the usual 12pm, then you will have a bona fide complaint there. I would go back top the travel company and show that you have only 6 nights accomodation booked and maybe get in touch with ABTA to see what your rights are. P.S. What part of Cyprus are you visiting?
stevie_b
Is there anything in the small print about what constitutes a "night"?
jacko
surely the early hours of Monday morning would be classed as Sunday night wouldnt it?
stevie_b
surely the early hours of Monday morning would be classed as Sunday night wouldnt it? Well, Thomas Cook probably regard the holiday as starting at 1900 on Sunday evening when the plane takes off from Cardiff. The OP would need the small print to confirm/deny this. I can't see a massive outfit such as TC having neglected to define it somewhere in their small print though, I don't think he'll get any redress out of this. Mike
I would give them a shout back and have a whinge. You do usually expect 'some' of the first evening to be travelling, but this clearly isn't 7 nights in Cyprus, it's six.
