DaveSupTT
As my car is ALMOST complete after being off the road for so long (ill have to update my Project thread! ) I am thinking of getting some gauges inside the car just so I can keep a bit of a check on whats going on! I already have a boost gauge, and I do have a EGT gauge but this doesn't work. So, my question is after reading up in the technical glossary, should I replace the broken EGT gauge and get an AFR gauge instead, or should I stick a new EGT gauge in, or would you say that I should have both. Is there anything else I should consider? Can anyone recommend any particular ones? Cheers
Lukeyboy2k
In your situation I'd consider a VEMS dual EGT/AFR gauge - they're supposed to be good (if not necessarily "bling"). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VEMS-Wideband-O2-Gauge-Air-Fuel-Exhaust-Temp-EGT-AFR_W0QQitemZ320353935566QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item320353935566&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
Chris Wilson
It's sometimes cheaper, neater and less labour intensive to install a basic motorsport dash display. I drove behind some fellow in a Skyline the other night, he looked like he was in the window of a cheap brothel from behind, such were the multicoloured lights and things down *both* the screen pillars. `Orrible. You sometimes find early dash's on racecardirect.
DaveSupTT
So what are your thoughts on which gauges I should have. Do I need both an AFR and an EGT gauge or can I get away with having just one, and if so which one? Cheers for your comments so far?
Matt H
Are you just BPU? I'd go for both in say a dual a pillar pod. That will look tidy
DaveSupTT
yeah just BPU

DaveSupTT
I have been having a read of a few threads, and although im possibly considering the Vems duel egt/afr guage mentioned above, are there any other good ones people would recommend? I found these that other people have spoke about? How do they compare, anyone had experience with any of them? http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=66 http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/db.php Cheers Edited April 19, 2009 by DaveSupTT (see edit history)
Ricky49
I have both Dave. Also I have matching Apexi oil pressure, oil temp, fuel pressure and also a water temp which I will fit when I go single. I would get both just to keep a good eye on things.
Ian C
You forget that some people like to have lots of pretty coloured lights Chris;) And some people add gauges over a matter of years as needs arise
