Garyafc
Well guys im not even sure if this is doable but im looking to get an onboard computer for the car, already have a Touch-screen in there so am looking for like a computer that can read and display signals from the ecu as well as stuff like boost gauges and pressure gauges so i dont have gauges all over the my cockpit!! something like what the have in the r34 gtr i think, has anybody heard of anything like this, and how do you go about getting one? JustGav
There is a blitz unit that does a basic thing like this for the OBD-II vvti ECU, however the range of information available from the pre-vvti ECU is limited at best. In order to do what you are thinking would rely on installing additional sensors or tapping individually into the existing ones. If you don't want gauges all over the cockpit, consider the PLX stuff or a dash2 unit.
caseys
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=159948 I think some were arranging a group buy of the Dash2 unit
JustGav
Dash 2 won't interface into a 2jz non-vvti ecu I don't believe.
Garyafc
Dash 2 won't interface into a 2jz non-vvti ecu I don't believe. But is should be ok with an after market ECU, should'nt it?
JustGav
But is should be ok with an after market ECU, should'nt it? Ryan G is far more experienced with this unit than I, I've simply read the specs Which ECU have you got? As said in a previous thread, if it supports CAN or serial data then you should be fine. Ryan.G
Dash2 will work with an AEM fine. Pig has one in his beast with an AEM. You need the serial to Can adaptor though
