Pixelfill
How does it connect Geoff ? Is there a hotshoe adaptor or does it connect somehow to the wired connection? I have a wired remote shutter release on my 300D and it just works, you don't need to change any settings. I'd presume that the camera would just work automatically if it was compatible Mike
Pixelfill
I've just done a search, and realise it must use an IR sensor on the camera. one of the articles I found had this: As this remote works via infra red you will need to be in front of the camera to fire the shutter. could this explain anything? Pixelfill
http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t250068-canon-remote-control-rc5-versus-rc1.html http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/36684-5-canon-rebel-300d-remote Remember, though, these are infra-red and therefore line-of-sight. The sensor is on the front of the grip just below the shutter release so you basically have to be in front of the camera for it to work. Maybe a problem with wildlife stuff? I made a manual release with a cord that I could make an extension for. grahamc
You normally have to change the "trigger" method in the menu system... On my Nikon it is where you setup the timer delay, etc.
colsoop
I bought one for my old 350 d and it didn't need setting up at all. Are you sure the batteries are ok ? Have you tried pointing it at it close up and from the front ?
