£2500 is for a getrag 6 speed but as you're n/a this price will be massivly reduced! I sold a complete W58 conversion for around £300 a few months back, so just allow around a days labour on top of that

Ah cool, Now I have something else to look into. Which would be most suited for an N/A 5 speed I'm guessing right? As I don't really feel that the N/A would develop enough power to make a 6-speed effective? But correct me if I'm wrong :)

yep, the getrag boxes normally sell for over £1k, personally i'd throw in a R154 from a mk3, it's very strong and you just need a JZ bellhousing then.

I've seen these go for pretty cheap too

How much power will these hold? IE will it take BPU power?

How much do they go for?

Looking at doing a swap before to long.

R154's seem to be happy over 500bhp, I can only go from what i've read but there are plenty of mk3's in the states running more than this. It's much stronger than the W58.

I've seen these boxes go for £150 on the MKIII site, as said you will need a JZ bellhousing to fit, not sure about prop and everything else to fit but there's probably a guide somewhere :)

this is normally the part where garethr pops in to give his knowledge ;)

I was comtemplating the R154 box too but read a write up somewhere on fitting it and it seemed quite a bit of work..? dont you need to modify the shift mechanism in order for it to sit in the right position in the dash? If there was a definitive list of the parts needed i'd certainly start to look out for them and try to get the ball rolling, I miss manual tranny like mad :(
