Guest OkinawaSupra
So top right there is a strip that I should see the CEL and oil light and another I can see faintly behind the black screen. All the lights on the Left side work IE my fasten seatbelts and the one that looks like a cat smoking.. Anyhow I just noticed this issue because I thought the Triangle light on the center of my cluster and the (!) next to the Temp turn on when I have my ebrake up. So I was under the impression that the Triangle light was the CEL. Also my Cigarette lighter doesnt work.. Can that be linked to the CEL strip? Anyone know if there is a plug that connects to the CEL? I dont see a fuse for the Cigarette lighters anywhere.. Sorry for my lack of knowledge I just got to Japan and bought this thing and I just wanna make sure its not throwing a code. Thanks in Advance! Jake
Hi mate. You US military? The red Triangle is a general fault indicator, usually it and another, more specific, warning light come on together. The warning lights on the right hand side sometimes fail to work because the solder joints have fractured. It's often repairable, you should be able to find more info if you search our archives using the Search button . Also, if the Cig lighter isn't getting power it can cause some seemingly unrelated electric issues (TBH I forget exactly what kinda issues at the moment). Check the Cig Lighter fuse which IIRC is in the driver's footwell on the RHS. It's difficult to see the fusebox if you don't know it's there. Guest OkinawaSupra
Ah ok great!! yes I am Us Military Just got to the island and needed a car so I went with the first one I found which happened to be a 1994 NA 5speed. Car has some issues like I said but I will have to get these worked out so I can pass the Rigorous JCI inspection as I've been warned. Also I have noticed at Idle with the clutch DISengaged I hear a whine like a loose belt and upon engaging the clutch maybe a few Centimeters it goes away.. Im wondering is that noise normal? or is that the ThrowOut bearing singing the song of DEATH? Thanks again
