hp006
I have spent the last few months researching whether or not i can de-cat the car, sounds like i cant as the MOT will test the emissions. So the question is I have found a HKS front downpipe on ebay and wondering if the item is any good and what sort of bhp increase and how the car will handle. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HKS-Front-Pipe-Downpipe-Toyota-Supra-JZA80-2JZ-GTE_W0QQitemZ290270911857QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item290270911857&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 I have a UK TT engine. Also with this item will i need to put a restrictor ring in and AFM. Any help appreciated

hp006
I have searched the forum and can not find anything on this downpipe or what results to expect. I realise its a bpu but want more information on the item. Or maybe some one can tell me. Is there a difference between the uk spec and jap spec exhaust system? When i look through a lot say for j spec only

bigbloodyturbo
How much more info do you need? its a pipe that replaces a cat, expect slightly higher boost with one of the cats removed. -edit- was beat to it;)
Chris Wilson
A few months researching a de cat pipe??? Jeez, are you in academia by any chance?
hp006
Ok maybe im being a bit over the top, however it looks as though there is a cat in the pipe, a small one however?? surely that makes a difference? and does this fit the uk tt as they advertise j spec pipes only?? bigbloodyturbo
Thats a flex pipe, it just isolates engine movement from the exhaust system.
Scott
It won't fit a UK spec as the fitment for the first decat to turbo is different.
Rinus
In the netherlands my j-spec past the mot, with second DEcat, but with 1st cat, without any problems... omly 1st decat is different between uk and j-spec, only jspec needs restrictorring, if you take both decats

Edit, no its not. Is that thing even for a supra?
Homer
The one in the pic is not for a supra. Also, have a search here for future motorsports, they have an appauling reputation. Many of the traders here can supply 1st and 2nd decats for al models of supra. They are VERY tried and tested. Chris Wilson, Whifbitz, MVP, PHR, Velocity Performance, Nic, in no particular order. Rinus
Then he has to put on a cat before mot, or pay a little more in Holland it cost me 50 euro extra for a car without any cat they take the risk..

RobSheffield
Depending how anal your MOT tester is, you should be ok with a 2nd cat in since you are UK spec. Buy a seperate first and 2nd decat
Chris Wilson
UK second cats, and second cat removal pipes differ to J-Spec ones, as do UK and Jap spec first cats and first cat removal pipes. VVti first decat pipes differ yet again, as do N/A first de cat pipes.
