LOGIE
ive used the search box to no avail, so could someone give me a bit of advice please? i know there aint much can be done to an N/A to get more power but how much power could i gain by de-catting one or both boxes on my standard exhaust ? and will i need to put at least one back on every time it goes for an MOT? tooquicktostop
I would try the removing the second cat first as a full de cat on an NA is VERY LOUD, also it will go through an MOT with the first one still in with no issues, you may not get any extra BHP but it will sound faster
Stonkin
From what i have read decatting an NA will generally free up a few horses up top but may lose you some torque lower down due to less back pressure. MOT will depend on how friendly your man is i believe
Dazzi
I had double decat straight through recently and it actually made my car slow, use masses of fuel, back fire and stink. I wouldn't bother really unless you have some kind of fuel management to fine tune everything.
hoff
I like my double de-cat but I use one of nics stainless steel manifolds which incorporates the 1st decat which is far better than stock. It will be for sale very soon - £200:innocent:
Dazzi
PMSL Hoff, like the ending. (£)(£)
hoff
Just want to help the guy;) Seriously it is the best bit of kit to mod an NA with. Certainly feels better in the mid range for me, and doesn't take away from the low down torque. I do still have the split piping before the Blitz Nur Spec S back box though (these will also be for sale soon:run:)
suprasam77
i de-catted my NA couple of months back, and its the best thing i could have done to it. it is defintely quicker, and sounds a million times better! Unlike Dazzi my fuel consumption is the same and yes it does smell but it smells GOOD! youve just gotta be a petrol head! defintely do it! Homer
lol, flamer kit? The only way, unless you get an aftermarket ECU and map. However a flamer kit allows every person in the club to ridicule you for it
