supra matt
Well it's all in and had it running for 10 mins to flush out the oil and water ways I'll do another oil and filter change and see how it fars on a test drive up and down my drive. But I think there has seen alot of oil starvation to the oil pump so think it might have to come back out and have new bottom end. Russ only run the car for around 1 minute befor noticing the problem and shut it off straight away. The reason I never stripped the bottom end completely down was due to it all looking ok and no signs of bearing or other material in the oil that come out. Should it be worst case scenario I have a spare long block out my car which I was holding onto but as Russ's need is greater than mine and I won't to wave the car good buy with him behind the wheel rather than on the back of another tow truck :-(. I will do all it takes to make this happen for him.

The Raven
FML. It never rains it pours, after talking to matt i had the first thought of enough is enough let it go and move on. Then i thought about all the work thats gone into it over the 5 years ive owned it, the man hours from colin and now matt. The tons of people that have offered time, parts and just good karma my way, so once i break the news to the mrs looks like im buying matts bottom end. The engine will have to come out and poor matt will have to rebuild it again. Matt your some kind of suprahero.

mwilkinson
Blimey mate. You are having a right nightmare with this car. You've invested too much not to finish it though. Think how great it will be to have it running properly.

supra matt
Quick update on this I got the engine back out tonight in only 2 1/2 hours which I thought was not bad as it was fully back in and connected up.. Hope to get it fully stripped down and my old dona long block stripped and rebuilt with new front and back crank seals and sump sealing this week so could have it all done and back in and running by the weekend if all goes well :-) Back out Edited May 27, 2014 by supra matt (see edit history)
The Raven
Top notch work matt. In some ways its gutting but in others i must have had a bit of luck i mean matt doing all this for goodwill and the fact he had a spare long block sitting.
