UK based LED supplier

Wasn't quite sure where to post this.

I know there are a few of you out there who have done LED tail light conversions who may be able to help me.

I'll shortly be needing to buy a large-ish quantity of high-brightness, 5mm LEDs in assorted colours in the 5 to 10 cd brightness range (nothing to do with cars).

Can anyone help me with a supplier? I'd rather not use e-Bay because a lot of the generic no-name Far-Eastern LEDs are prone to failing as a short circuit, which then immediately overloads any other LEDs connected to it in series. I also doubt their brightness figures.

I've tried RS and Maplin but I think almost £3 for a high-brightness blue or green is a tad high.

PM me mate if you need help. Probably arrange free postage direct to you if you want enough!

Just to save the PMs...

What I'm looking for is red, green, blue and white LEDs in the following specs:

Forward voltage: 4v max

Forward current: approx 20mA

Luminous intensity: 5000mcd to 10000mcd (brighter the better).

Case stye: standard 5mm case, 0.1" pin pitch, water clear lense

Looks like the pruce to beat is about 30p each from Ultraleds.co.uk. Incidentally, that site looks like it is being mirrored on the LED section of http://www.besthongkong.com

Odd!

Well, high for me, but probably not high in absolute terms. Say 100 in total so 25 of each.

Not being funny, but I'll need a spec sheet for the LEDs. Terms like "superbright" and "hyperbright" don't really mean anything anymore - its that mcd figure that is the key.

Cheers.
