hadyn
Theoretically speaking, if you could remove the ECUs pre-set rev limit on a j-spec auto TT ECU, would the autbox ECU still shift at certain points, or would the engine carry on revving past 8k rpm and to oblivion?? bigbloodyturbo
Does the fuel map extend past the stock rev limit?

paul mac
raising the rev limit seems to come up every now and again, unless you have some serious mods ie a big single that is only just starting to make decent power at high revs and would continue to make power well up the rev range there is absolutely nothing to be gained and a massive amount to be lost ie a blown engine, there is nothing more stressfull you can do to an engine than over rev it, as for the auto box it would still shift up on its old red line as thats what is programmed to do
legendswraith
You can do this with the emanage ultimate, but its not a removal of he limit as such you just hold a voltage from just below the normal limit for so many milliseconds until it gives you a new upper rev limit. Ithink you can also programme the gearchange on the ulimate but i've not got round to looking at it to intently as of yet.
dangerous brain
In manu mode it probably would just keep going until it went bang. That said it won't drop down a gear unless it knows its low enough rev wise to do so safely so who knows. Not something I'd be in a rush to test though.
