Duffman
Thats what i mean though. When it was the wrong way round it might have damaged it. Putting it the right way round would solve your boosting issues but as it is already damaged it could cause the noise. How is the boost in TTC mode? Boosting at 1bar most of the time but sometimes hits 1.2bar, which I ain't to happy about

AlanM
i had exactly that noise and it turned out to be a small split in the vacuum hose that fitted in the back of the boost gauge What size is that hose and should I be able to get some from any garage? I should really replace all of mine as it is well perished

Nope...turbo just been replaced...with a good one might I add where exactly is the pressure tank, Think it's at the back right hand side of the engine...you can't see it from the top though. May have to remove other stuff to get to it?

bodilx6
A bit hard to hear on the vid, but are you sure its just not the sound of the turbos spooling? I have exactly the same sound when boost comes online. At motorway speed aprox 80mph, I have a constant high piched whistle and always have had, at least since I went BPU 3 years ago. No change in the sound through that time. No boost leaks or any change in performance. Have always been boosting to 1.2 bar.

It's not the turbos spooling mate...sounds more like a supercharger. maybe 0.9bar is all it's going to boost to but I think there must be a leak somewhere

Lude
i had squeel on boost when fitted my samco hoses, there was too much of a gap from the intercooler hard pipe to the engine, and the boost just made the samcos sort of inflate like a baloon, just one to check
