JustGav
Does anybody happen to know what RPM these engines normally run at and what they can go to?
Max Headroom
I have a 5hp lawnmower and it can go as fast as I can walk which is about 2.7 miles per hour, on a good day From looking probably about 2800rpm with no load
JustGav
I have a 5hp lawnmower and it can go as fast as I can walk which is about 2.7 miles per hour, on a good day Well, I've managed to tweak the throttle control system, so it doesn't just have the standard start->slow->fast bit.... It now has a proper throttle control (care of a bit of string), Graham S and myself had it revving rather well, but just wondering if turbo-mowing may cause a piston to come out the top Not planning on using it as a lawnmower don't worry
PeteA
The 23-29cc ones found in 1/5th scale r/c cars seem to have a range of about 2k to 20k rpm or there abouts, so perhaps in that sort of range?

Funnily enough that is plan, a somewhat bigger than normal RC car

Kranz
2500 I thought, though I don't know what the safe rev limit is. IIRC they have aluminium con rods, so it won't be very high.
