DAT Inter
This has been happening more and more often on the internet recently. Its an underlying DNS error on the isp side. It should sort itself.
Scott
Just make sure its not a spyware issue. Reboot your PC but don't open anything. Once its done click start then "run" and type in "CMD" then hit enter. A command prompt will come up. Type in "Netstat -n" and hit enter. This will show the amount of connections you have on the internet. Depending on your background programs you should have no connections. Open up explorer and go to google. Go back to the command prompt and type in the same command. You should now have 1 more connection. If you have others then there is something not quite right. Angarak
Sounds like you have a virus on your laptop Jurgen. When you google for something, hover over the result links and see if the URL shown in the status bar at the bottom of the browser is identical the link shown in the google result. Sounds like you're being redirected by a virus. Are you able to access Windows Update and update your AV? If not, sounds like a rootkit virus. creative
I'll take a look at that later, thanks for the tip off no worries... I have actually ditched FF now. Most of the add on's from FF3 work with it and it can be configured in exactly the same way in config

Jurgen-Jm-Imports
Have you tried what i said? i tried to type it and it never worked... can you check its correct ? cheers scott
Scott
Yup it looks fine. The only thing i can think of is that your not meant to type the "" 's. Click on the start button, click on run and type in cmd. Hit enter Type netstat -n and hit enter. Run IE Type netstat -n and hit enter. Check the difference. After a reboot and once everything is running as normal, you should have no internet connections. If you do you either have a rogue program running or something is updating.
