jimmy_supra
I fitted my 19 inch jade r wheels the other day after having the rear arches rolled. Today I had my d2 coilovers fitted it seems it is too low now though. It has also got a do-luck front end on as I am in the process of changing the look of it. Basically I was wondering if anyone was running a similar setup that could give me the optimal ride heights. As it is now the wheels rub the arches and the do-luck bumper grates on everything. 19 inch wheels with 35mm profile tyres all round d2 coilovers do luck front The plan is to take it back on monday and get it set right but if anyone has some measurements I could take with me that are tried and tested that would be great. jimmy_supra
Has anyone got a similar setup that can help? If not no worries.
Chris Wilson
Optimal is not a term that suits raising a car in order for wrong size wheels to stop rubbing the arches, or to stop a too low spoiler digging the road up
jimmy_supra
I know its not optimal. There are quite a few members on here with 19 inch wheels and bodykits fitted. I was just wondering what there ride height was set to for a trouble free ride, well as near as you can get . I am not planning on track racing as if I was I would have gone for a completely different set up.
Chris Wilson
Well just raise it up an inch at a time until they don't rub. It'll be a cock up though, as you need to allow for situations where the suspension travel in bump is extensive, like hump back bridges. Correctly sized rims and tyres won't touch anything even when the suspension is on the bump rubbers in the top mounts, of course.
jimmy_supra
As it is now the rear wheels are fine over bumps etc the guy who fitted them lowered the front too much so its just trial and error then until it is set right. I'm guessing you advise nothing bigger than an 18inch wheel for clearance preferably 17's.
Amir khan
I dont think i can help, but would love to see pics of the car at that height!
Chris Wilson
Width and offset are all you need to consider, as well as spigot hole diameter and weight. I am assuming tyre rolling radius is similar to a stock one here.
