Guest pecheythefrench Posted April 4, 2009 Share Posted April 4, 2009 hi peeps i have a twin turbo 6speed manual silver for sale its just haveing a newish engine fitted with 33,000miles on it i have put on new alloys and tyres front and rear speakers with head unit and a pipercross induction kit. i have only had it for a month the reason for sale is due to me being in the army i have been called up for duty in a few weeks im not here to mess anyone around im a nice down to earth guy if interested call me on 07792401365. Guest pecheythefrench Posted April 4, 2009 Share Posted April 4, 2009 basicly a friend that is a machanic did my timing belt but lined the arrows up out by a whole 180 degress which he didnt relesase so the car would start so we got another garage to look at it and they said that the timimg was completely out and that the vavles would had been affected and possibly the pistons the guy that did the belt is saying that it wasnt his fault but at the end of the day the car went into him working so should come out working im so pissed off you wouldnt believe so im at the stag of going through a small claims unit cos he is a complete nob and thats y im getting the newer engine put in Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That means that the valves wouldn't get damaged with the timing being out. All that is required is the timing to be set correctly and the car will be fine... i think. Regardless of the timing though i can't see how the piston would come up and bend the valve. The pistons aren't anywhere near the valves. Can i ask what japanese specialist you spoke to? Scott Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 sounds more like the cambelt to me What sounds like the cambelt? The cambelt IS the timing belt. It was set wrong so the car wouldn't run. Where it gets a bit iffy is that the timing being wrong on a supra wouldn't bend the valves as the engine is non-interferance. Basically i reckon this guy has unfortunately been taken for a walk.
