CJ
Whats going to happen to God save the Queen when either Charles or William go onto the throne? Will the words change to "God save our gracious King"?

Elliot
Yes. If you check through some of the older hymn books next time you're at church, they might have the 'God Save the King' version in there instead!
Digsy
"Jerusalem" gets my vote as a possible replacement National Anthem.

CJ
"Jerusalem" gets my vote as a possible replacement National Anthem. For England you mean?
Digsy
For England you mean?Yeah, why not? Let's have our own. We could sing it on the St. George's Day holiday.
CJ
Yeah, why not? Let's have our own. We could sing it on the St. George's Day holiday. I agree, you should have your own. And I also think there should be a new ditty for the GB anthem - possibly Land of Hope and Glory?
Jake
"Jerusalem" gets my vote as a possible replacement National Anthem. Me too! It's the only hymn I really like. For anyone that didn't know, it's supposed to be about when baby jeebus alledgedly visited England.
Jake
For England you mean? I don't see the scots singing GSTQ at any events. They regard TFOS as their anthym anyway. What do the welsh have as a substitute anthym? (I should know but I forget ATM)
Digsy
I agree, you should have your own.Right on! You've got Charlotte Church after all. Fair's fair. And I also think there should be a new ditty for the GB anthem - possibly Land of Hope and Glory? That would be my second choice. Good taste, CJ. Sure you're not English? CJ
What do the welsh have as a substitute anthym? Digsy
PMSL. Anyone remember the Billy Connoly sketch where he reckoned the new National Anthem should be the theme from The Archers?
CJ
Yeah - that was fecking funny. He also went on about the anthems at the Olympics when the GB one was played and everyone fell asleep. Then another country (we'll call it Namibia) came on and it was [really bouncy upbeat]: "We're from Namibia and we dont give a fuck"!!! Digsy
"We've got a National debt, of fifty squillion pounds. And we don't give a monkey's!" ...and we get lapped on the parade at the opening because our national anthem is so slow and boring.
