hodge
This EMU stuff is getting really tedious now. im starting to crack up. I noticed a discrepancy with the EMU software not being up to date. so thought that it may effect the map that I got from Ian. So i thought just to iliminate the problem I best update it. I downloaded the update from greddy and the EMU software went in fine updating it to 2.20, but the laptop software did not update. Now its all kicking off and I cant use it. When I connect the EMU to the laptop the communicate with main unit in real time box keeps coming up even when I click ok it continues to appear and wont let me do anything. Ive clicked on the help box and checked the updated and the p.c software is still 1.09. and so is the emanage ultimate update file. anyone had this problem or any ideas where I can get the P.C update. Honestly guys im totally at the end of my tether with this. You know ive got all the pacience in the world with engine, electronics and I.C.E installing but when it comes to P.C's ive got no pecience what so ever. PLEASE HELP............................................................

Homer
The mohdparts site seems to have gone offline Will take a look for you.. Edit - have you PM'd Ian C?
Tricky-Ricky
OK i'm not the most computer literate but, here is how i have done it in the past. Not sure about the Greddy update file but in general they are usually zip or sxf files, when you click on it you will be asked to run it, so when you do you will be given a reference directory to chose, click on your hard drive letter whatever it is, then go to program files, and look for the TRUST folder, open this and highlight the Greddy emanage ultimate file, and then click OK. The update file should then unpack into the correct folder, then just double check that its taken.

I'm afraid that Mhodparts and the main emanage ultimate forum have now gone, as mentioned in another thread, it would be good if we could have a section on here, as it may help a lot of people. No you don't need to have it connected, also don't quite see how you managed to update the unit without updating the PC software, as this usually only takes place when you click update when the PC software is running when connected:think:
hodge
like i said matey im a total computer numpty. Ill build you a car but when it comes to downloading something im out of my depth lol. Tricky-Ricky
Hope you have some success with the borrowed EMU, and find out if its the unit or not, surprised you have problems with Vista and EMU, mine is fine with it.
michel lane
i still have the same problem, did you manage to get the stupid thing running ?? we have no spark at all.
hodge
Ill try swapping the emu to see if its bust then I'm going to bypass the ignition circuits seems that's the engine code I'm getting and see what happens then. I'll keep you posted michel.
legendswraith
You do have the switches set to the right setting for the ignition? (may be a stupid question) As i remember the manual suggests one setting for the ignition switch and it needs to be the opposite to work, i don't have the manual in front of me to be able to quote the switch and the voltage settings though
michel lane
if you can tell me the extact setting that you have on your aristo that would be a great help. We have rad the setting from IAN C post and have set them accordingly but still have the same problems. I dont suppose if i were to send the unit down to you and you upload your map on it and see if it works would be ok ? thanks

Ryan.G
I had the same problem last week with a new EMU. By passing the ignition circuit of the EMU and it works fine. Friend of mine who repairs them is looking at it at present as he has seen alot of them with ignition chips which are faulty. Will keep you up to date Ryan
Tricky-Ricky
Thought they fixed the problems with the ignition chips being damaged by people taking the board in and out to change the jumpers. They moved the chip inboard, as on the earlier models they where hitting the casing, i had one of the early ones, but that was back in 04-05, so the only thing i can think of is you may have one of the earlier models. Unfortunately Mhodparts is no more so there is no info on the serial numbers, i will have a look on my desktop and see if i have anything saved. Ryan.G
Problem Fixed Issue was the Aftermarket Throttle body fitted has a different swing direction to the standard Throttle sensor.. So when the throttle plate was closed it was producing 4.81v and open 0.79v. The stock ecu and EMU think that 4.5v + is the throttle open so the emu was enabling anti foul mode where it doesn't add fuel. Got round this by using the Sub throttle position sensor and rewiring the Pot to suit. Then had the issue with the error code 14.. Problem was due to another wire being T'd into the IGF wire which linked to a set of resistors interupting the feedback to the ecu. Removed the wire and ran like a dream
Tricky-Ricky
Glad to hear its finally sorted, there is a reverse option for just that type of throttle pot in the throttle setup menu, shouldn't need to rewire? Anyway headache over, you can now enjoy your Supra John:)
