Aircon Condenser (Aircon Radiator)

Thanks for the reply.

I'm looking for as close to a minter as possible really - one that definitely doesn't leak and has all the fins fairly intact. If yours doesn't look pretty, then it sounds as though it may not be much better than what's on the car already. Thanks anyway. :)

The one that's on the car at the moment doesn't leak too badly - it'll last a good 6 months or more, so I don't want to take a chance on something that could well be worse.

The Japfest looks good. Pity it's almost 250 miles away for me...

I have one that came off my '97 facelift, it was in great condition & had no leaks, I will take pics for you tomorrow. The only thing is when I removed it I went on a bit of a hacking spree so I don't know if I've damaged any pipes running to/from it. The pics will reveal all tomorrow :)

Sounds good... apart from the 'hacking spree' bit! :D Hopefully the actual condenser will be ok.

Steve, here's some pics, I don't think I actually damaged any pipes that you couldn't reuse from your setup. Only a small patch has bent fins, the rest is in pretty good condition for a 10 year old rad. The only bit I will draw you attention to is the bits I bent along the bottom where the rubber feet attach (although I imagine they will bend back into shape). Let me know what you think or if you want any more photos

Thanks for the photos. :)

Apart from the lower mounting points (I assume the rubber feet off my aircon condenser will simply attach/bolt on once straightened up?), it does appear to be in better condition that what's on my car at the moment.

One query: Where the refrigerant connection is showing the green leak marker dye (I assume that's what it is) in the 5th photo, does some sort of gasket go in between there and the pipework? It doesn't show one in the parts diagram.

Let me know what you're after for it (here, or via PM) and we'll take it from there.

Thanks again,

Steve.

No worries, the rubber feet from yours should work but I will include my rubber feet also.

I also have the pipe which bolts to the area you mention (it has a built in rubber seal), I will chuck that in

If you could cover postage that'd be great, PM me your addy & I will get a box from work next week & get it sent :)

Jay
