extendor
so many complaints....... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8002586.stm 70 claims of excessive force by alleged victims or witnesses to brutality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFS Even if only 10% are valid it is a very poor state of affairs and certainly something the police need to address urgently.

Shadow Beast
this has moved on a bit over the last few days! some interesting reading i must say. I would be interested to know though how many of the people on here that have posted up some, to be honest ridiculous comments have actually been on the front line of a riot. I for one have been ( the right side of the law) they are not nice places to be, there are to many situations that can easily turn out to be fateful. As a few others in the know have posted you cannot allow the situation to become one where your life could be in grave danger. If you wish to be to be present and face the police on the front line and refuse to move or move slowly out the way then i am afraid you deserve whats coming to you. extendor
So many whinging revolutionaries... Its ironic that you have the ability to say this because others whinged in the past for rights everyone enjoys. I expect that all these whinging revolutionaries are saying is that they did not believe the response of certain police officers was proportionate to the level of threat posed and that now those officers have to justify their individual response. imi
I watched the first hour of the obama deception yesterday (it finally arrived). V. interesting - some views put forward are somehwat radical but there is an obvious element of within truth in it. It's something I always suspected, common sense infact, if you think about it. But there are many not so many obvious 'happenings' which go on. I never really thought about media colusion and cartel marketing to deliberately not only shape public opinion but to go so far as to move financial markets in the favour of shadow central banks to enable huge supernormal profits. These profits can then be used to further make huge profits buying struggling companies and then using the media to effectively market products in their favour increasing their value ten fold. It's all very interesting, especially to an entrepeneur such as myself . Very interesting. I am going to do more research into it myself as I am just inquisitive like that. Not sure how far his petty protests will go in the grand scheme of things but I can't blame him for trying. wrong thread
supra_aero
wrong thread Yeh it is just that documentary was mentioned earlier. It is worth seeing anyway for those who have not seen it.
extendor
Via BBC website - Nick Hardwick, head of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, ......said police should remember they were "the servants not the masters" of the people. He also said that the number of people who had filmed the protests on their mobile phones ...... "I think that is challenging the police. They have to respond to the fact that they are going to be watched, there is going to be this evidence of what they have done." What sort of police do we want. Do we want political puppets, do we want a force or a service or dont we care. What do the rank and file police (who we must remember are also members of society) themselves want. Should we even question the tactics of the police and our government offices. Do they know best.
Paul
I'm having difficulty with this now because it would seem everyone is coming out of the woodwork and putting in a complaint. If you felt that you had been treated badly then you'd have put in a complaint within 24hrs and not weeks later?
Kranz
I'm having difficulty with this now because it would seem everyone is coming out of the woodwork and putting in a complaint. If you felt that you had been treated badly then you'd have put in a complaint within 24hrs and not weeks later? I have a niggling feeling that this is being orchestrated by those protest groups that were at the G20 demo themselves in an effort to undermine the country's confidence in the UK police service. This will serve to, in a small way, gain a 'victory' from the protests in the first place. Sad to see that people are so eager to jump on the media bandwagon, and the media are so eager to pay £££££ to those people. I feel another 'What is this country coming to' thread coming on. I also hear Canada is a really nice place to live
Paul
I do think that the original death needs investigating fully and openly but when some bird is represented by Max Clifford and gets paid for her story it seems to weaken their arguement somewhat
extendor
I feel another 'What is this country coming to' thread coming on. I hope not. I think that has been done to death. I would rather see a positive outcome such as what type of country do we want. Its easy knocking things down but we need to start rebuilding. For many of us, emigration or burying our head in the sand is not an option.
