Abz
Hello Peeps, Just wanted to say hi to everyone on my first post! I am going to see a Supra next week in Belfast (Going from London), hopefully I will buy it & become a full member! Its a N\A which has had a single turbo conversion so I have been reading up information on this. Do we have any Irish Owners here who might know of a red blooded Supra which white wheels! I currently a member of FTOOC & own a FTO, EG Civic & a Vectra (Yes you read the last bit correctly). Though planning to sell the lot to keep just the Supra, this way I can give it my full attention & wallet! Take care guys an hope to chat to you soon!!! TTRickeh
Hey Hope all goes well with the viewing mate, I know there's a lot of things i'd be looking at if it's NA-T. Have you got a link to the for sale ad?

Abz
Thanks guys for the warm welcome! [GRIN][/GRIN] Hey Hope all goes well with the viewing mate, I know there's a lot of things i'd be looking at if it's NA-T. Have you got a link to the for sale ad? It was on fleabay but he stop it when I paid him a deposit, the eBay link is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=170313637686 Any advice you can provide me on what to look for? The fella says that everything is running well & that the only thing he would recommend is to put in the bigger 440cc injectors. Any advice would be much appriciated! Smallshinyant
Im not to hot on car buying, but i found this thread that i wish i had read before buying mine(not that there is anything wrong with mine but best to go armed with info). http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=67644
TTRickeh
I'm not too clued up on the ins and outs of an NA-T conversion someone else might be able to shed some light on the technicals specs of it but I don't get the impression that's been an enthusiasts pride and joy. I'm always a little wary of someone who can't spell, writes almost soley in capital letters, and doesn't declare a turbo conversion to his insurance though. I wonder why he's only done 90 miles in it since the last MOT 9 months ago? He doesn't have an air filter on the turbo, and it doesn't look like you would even fit one on there, which is kind of concerning. I think a stock TT would be much more reliable & a better bet in my opinion. Hope I haven't disheartened you too much.
SatSport
There was a thread in here last year on that car iirc. Did you put down a big deposit? Did you ask has it been mapped? Dyno sheet? Recommend you give this one a good look over - preferably along with a Supra enthusiast
Abz
There was a thread in here last year on that car iirc. Did you put down a big deposit? Did you ask has it been mapped? Dyno sheet? Recommend you give this one a good look over - preferably along with a Supra enthusiast I am getting worried now! Supposed to be booking tickets for Belfast tonight! I put down £50 as a deposit to view the car on Wednesday 8th April. He did advise me that he did not have it dyno'ed & that the only work he would recommend on the car was to go for the bigger injectors & then have it re-mapped. TTRickeh - Yes I totally understand you their! I am always hot on stuff like this but I did buy my FTO off a fella in Hull who wrote the description in BOLD RED FONT SIZE 16 he turned out to be a true gent! Quality fella, I spoke to him on the phone an he seems pretty okay, though you never know until you met someone in person. Haha yes I am slightly disheartened I have been doing as much info as poss on NA -T conversions. Any stuff you guys could dig up on this car would help a fellow (wannabe) Supra owner a lot (just don't let the FTO hear you say that!) Thanks guys for the other information, will be printing it all out and digesting!
Lukeyboy2k
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=2184714 Probably this one mate. I'd just let the £50 deposit go and keep looking. For an extra grand or so you might pick up an auto TT.
jim
Hi Abz, if it's the same one that's been talked about in the other thread by BadWolf, and the seller's not been any more forthcoming with the details then I'd be tempted to take the hit on the deposit and try to change your flights to somewhere else (Amsterdam!? ). I live about ten miles out of Bangor and don't know this car at all, it's not a big place and most of the NI supra owners know each other. If you're set on coming for a look anyway, the person you really want to be going to look at it with you is Marty (Bondango is his username on here) from Supra Specialists Ireland, I expect you'd need to pay him for his time too though. Could be worth dropping him a pm. If you can get any more detail on either the garage that carried out the work or the guy's own tt supra I'd be happy to do some digging to see what I can find out for you. Sadly there's no point me coming to look at it with you, I wouldn't know what I was looking at to be honest mate.

Abz
Luke, thanks for looking this up, I never would have found it! I am 90% no make that 100% sure this is the same one! He said exactly the same answer to me... Yes I know a lot of people are saying to walk away but I am tempted to take it on...then get all the work done which would bring it into a reliable form! I doubt its making 400bhp!!! I was thinking more 280 - 310bhp! Jim - Lucky I have not booked tickets, thanks for the information mate, really appriciate it! I will call them a bit later & see what they say. Guys, still thinking of getting it... It could need a lot of work as like you say the guy has just stuck a turbo on, though how about driving it back to London? I was going to get ferry across to Liverpool & then drive to London... could I risk it an drive slowly so then the turbo does not kick in? Arrrggggggggggghhhhhhh wish I signed up earlier, got my heart set on it & mind set on it! Just dunno what to do now... I really appriciate your help though, you guys have all been fantastic! Thanks Abz
