RedM Posted March 31, 2009 Share Posted March 31, 2009 The government is backing a project to install a "communication box" in new cars to track the whereabouts of drivers anywhere in Europe, the Guardian can reveal. Under the proposals, vehicles will emit a constant "heartbeat" revealing their location, speed and direction of travel. The EU officials behind the plan believe it will significantly reduce road accidents, congestion and carbon emissions. The more I think about it, the more I want to move to another planet. Unfortunately, for the majority there's no escaping it. Even moving to another fairly well-off country won't get you away from the same governing mentality. Control is power in this society, a freedom be damned.
