wilkorangerover
what should the readings be ???
Homer
The afr readings mean next to nothing without throttle position and boost readings. As Jamie pointed out, you need to get that thing parked up, checked by a professional and possibly remapped. Who did the previous map? tooquicktostop
way too rich on tickover
JamieP
13.1 at 5000rpm is way to lean, 10.9 at 6000rpm is ok but it should not be hitting the limiter at 6000rpm. Get it checked out, any fcon mapper will charge a fortune though and you are limited on mappers.
DAT Inter
Thats mega rich on idle. That 13.1 is concerning :S
wilkorangerover
first post edited 6000 until it hits the limiter it was running 1.1 bar and running in the 11`s in every rev range just 10.5 on tick over only did 2 very short runs on 1.3 bar i`ll be changing it back to 1.1 until i get another ecu
johnny g
I know Matt @ AFR is a recognised Fcon mapper. Might well be worth heading down to Gatwick for a remap mate!

tooquicktostop
Did you up the boost, what is the boost control, your AFR's sound ok at 1.1 bar, perhaps 1.3 was never mapped, if that is the case it is a shame because the T04R needs more boost to come in to its own, you auto box wont like it however so 1.1 bar may be the best place to stay
Lee P
It should be about 14.4 on tick over when warm, 10.5 is way too rich.
Wez
As already mentioned take it to someone who knows what they are doing and who can access the FCON, bit limited there though. AFR, SUMO Power and TDI
wilkorangerover
At 1.1bar it sounds ok, is the 10.5 on tickover when its warm or cold or both? 10.0 when cold 10.5 when warmer i suppose the car is use to jap fuel

Homer
It should be about 14.4 on tick over when warm, 10.5 is way too rich. Depends if it was a warm or cold idle, but like you I assume not! We either need a lot more detailed information (which from wilko isn't going to happen), or it needs taking to a mapper, or a new ECU. Wilko, it's your call
tooquicktostop
1.3 was more like it what boost can the autobox handle??? if a ecu comes up for sale somebody give me a shout (or its 75 pound per hour at tdi ) Its torque that will kill the auto box not boost, I ran my T04R at 1.5 bar and it did not last long before the box started slipping

tooquicktostop
so 1.3 should be ok? id like a good 1.2 /1.3 ideally Whats the full spec of the car, that would help ? A well set up T04R at 1.3 bar will make around 500 Fly BHP, it will be testing the Auto box at this level, I would say a transmission cooler is a must What injectors are fitted What intercooler do you have, uprated fuel pump? Gaz6002
Use the search button to research the different ECUs mate.
tooquicktostop
i am looking at aem ecus are they ok?? I would stop and take a deep breath before you spend any more money You have an ECU already so getting this mapped correctly would be the obvious option, you also need to get a tuner to investigate the full spec as the car will be mapped to this spec, I would talk to an F Con mapper and go from there, dont go and buy an AEM until you know what your options are with the current set up Edited March 29, 2009 by tooquicktostop (see edit history)
