Guest ugp
Hi Guys / Girls I'm about to purchase an NA Supra, out of curiocity, I've been looking at power increasing components (already!). Please bare with me, I have a fair few questions. I found this on SupraStore.com: http://www.suprastore.com/60hpnabpukit.html Also, has anyone had a 30-40bhp increase using their stage 2 kit for the NA? What kind of power increase can be expected over the stock 225 with slight mods, filter, pipe, de cat etc? I noticed the unorthadox cam gear set claims to give 22bhp, has anyone acheived this? If so its one hell of a power hike for 300 quid! Cheers Ben
tooquicktostop
US power gains Fitting this will not give you 40BHP I tell you that for nothing, you can do most of this much much cheaper also, decat exhaust, induction kit and a full engine service will be as good as this for a LOT less You can get a few BHP (5 or so) with an uprated manifold (NIC on here sells them) To be honst unless you go forced induction you are throwing money at a lost cause, I would go for weight loss and better brakes and suspension if you have to keep the car as an NA
Nic
Completely agree, those components are not going to improve power by 40hp. You'd be lucky to get a 10hp gain at best, there are no easy ways to get extra power out of the 2JZGE engine. Optimising the handling and braking are where you will get the most benefits for your money ie. tyres, suspension, brakes. If you are wanting more power then it may be worth thinking of buying a TT instead.
Supradan
Personally i would put the money towards the cars looks and handling as the only way to make an NA faster is to put on a turbo (or NOS if you want to go fast then bang)
Scott
So, you can't get insurance for a stock N/A yet you want to modify it anyway?
DannoSupra
This is a good mod for all N/A's http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=181122

Max Headroom
Remember the car is about 14 years old and the figure quoted is the factory figure. More likely to have 190bhp than 220bhp as a baseline
