scubaman
Hi guys I passed my driving test on 31.01.2001 As far as I can work out this means I can ride a 49cc bike on "L" plates without taking any additional tests or CBT's Does anyone know if this is correct??? Cheers in advance! James
Pete
It's says on your licence paperwork I believe? I could look, but like you I can't be arsed either!

Gaz6002
You will need a CBT AFAIK. Then you can ride up to a 125.
patrikbrunt
From Directgov website: You will need to complete CBT if: you want to ride a moped (a moped has an engine not over 50 cc with maximum design speed not exceeding 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) which is approximately 31 miles per hour) you want to ride a motorcycle If you obtained your car licence before 1 February 2001 you do not need to complete a CBT to ride a moped. Looks as though you passed your test just in time!!

scubaman
I have just dug my licence out! (yes I am aware I should have done this 1st!) and yes If you passed your test before 01.02.2001 you can automaticly ride a moped (up to 49cc) without taking any additional tests or CBT's! snake
Please be aware if you get a moped you have to drive it on full throttle, so it sounds like a wasp in a jam jar. Then you have to learn to ride with two fellow moped riders a few inches from the car in front. This has to be done when talking to each other at the same time:p:p
