Conrad
Bobbeh, I remember from past threads you're a fellow boxing fan like me. I'm also flying out to Vegas for the fight on the 30th of this month, seriously cannot wait!! This is my 4th time to Vegas, 3rd time for a fight. I was at Hatton Castillo and Calzaghe Hopkins. Most things covered by previous posts, taxis are expensive! Use the Deuce bus when exploring the strip, comes literally every 5 mins and you can get a 24hr ticket for $5. The Deuce just runs up and down the strip 24hrs a day. Hoover Dam and Canyon a must, the canyon I wasn't overly impressed with but at least you've ticked that box and can say you've seen it. Aside from all that, you'll have an amazing time no doubt!! I love it there! I'm fortunate enough to have been all over the world backpacking and Vegas is easily my favourite place I've been. Oh, make sure you're at the weigh-in the day before, always a good atmosphere! Free too so get there early if you want a good view.
Bobbeh
Cool, I'm going over on the 29th, this'll be my first (live) boxing match, so I think I picked a good one I really like both fighters in this one too, been a fan of Manny for a few years now after seeing some of his fights on youtube vids.. remember thinking this guy was exciting and very accurate with his shots! And Hatton is a Brit and looking good with his new trainer, so it should be a good atmos as per most of his fights. I thought the weigh in was on the Thursday, that's fine though, if not just gives me another day to do stuff .Yeah, definitely wanted to see that though, that's half the fun! Cheers for the tips peeps.
francis
If you're around for a while try and check out the drag racing scene there, I think they have one a week out in the desert somewhere! There are a couple of tuning shops out there. There's a couple of big retail outlets on the outskirts. Check out In-and-Out burger Buffet's are a must, Bellagio one was pretty decent from what I remember, MGM one's not bad either... The Grand Canyon, maybe hire a car and drive out there.... Have fun! dandan
Go to the Las Vegas Gun shop and shoot a myriad of handguns mmmmm Don't wear the same clothes when you fly home though - that tends to set the sniffer dog's off
Conrad
I'm 99% sure the weigh-in will be on the Friday, never known one to be 2 days prior to the fight. Must say Bob you have picked one hell of a fight to go see. I do actually rate Ricky's chances as better than when he fought Mayweather, even so I still don't think he'll win. Pacquiao is imense and I'm a huge fan of his, so much so I don't think I'd be too disappointed if Ricky lost. I'm sooo excited for Vegas this time around. My current ringtone is 'Viva Las Vegas' by Elvis. I keep missing my calls because I'm too busy singing: ... 'Bright light city gonna set my soul...!!!' :d
Bobbeh
LOL, I love it No ringtone madness for me... yet I think so.. to me its Rickys last big chance to really stand out so I think he has the motivation, plus he doesnt want to go on much more.. he seems really confident probably because he knows he's the bigger guy. But Manny is a great boxer... it could easily swing either way, and tbh I dont mind who wins at the end of the day So either way I'm a happy man - plus it could turn into a real war! It would be cool for Ricky as it sets up Marquez and then finish his career with another Mayweather fight (hopefully in the UK this time). Yeah, Friday is as good as Thursday for me.. no worries there I'll have to send you a text if you're off to the weigh in, I'll buy you a beer or sommat
