Pleased Massa looks set to recover.

 

That really is rotten luck, to get hit by that small component. If you see an accident and there are wheels flying around, then you sort of half expect them to hit cars or even drivers. The last F1 fatality was a Marshall, hit by a wheel, in Melbourne.

 

Alonso is light, but always the star driver for me.

 

Watch him go!!

Crikey, that's a lot worse than I was expecting. Could have easily been another great racer killed in the space of a week.

 

Flippen heck, that is one HELL of a hit... It does however show that even helmets don't give you total protection... (comes from personal experience as well...)

The hit seemed to have knocked him out. No attempt to steer and his legs locked up so he was on the accelerator and brake at the same time. You could hear the engine at high revs when he was in the tyres.

 

Hopefully he'll recover soon and looks like a good race for tomorrow.
