Scott
How hard is it to get locking nuts off when you don't have the key? I can't for the life of me find the socket and i'm a bit worried about punctures etc. I was just going to buy another set of locking nuts but wasn't sure how to go about getting the old ones off. extendor
Post up a pic. The best plan is to NOT damage the alloy so let's have a look and see what we can do.
absz
Last time i had a set stuck on i got a mate to weld a small nut on from the inside hole and simply undid them. Thats the way i normally do them unless you have cheap locking nuts which a impact socket can be hammered on . PS as a joke a mentioned to a freind that the only way it can be done was by using a hole cutter and cutting the alloy wheel off which he DID:taped: Edited March 26, 2009 by absz (see edit history)
natony
homebase used to sell a socket called a gatorgrip which is like a socket with loads of pins in it and is supposed to fit all nut sizes but it turned out the were really good for getting locking wheel nuts off maybe worth a try looks like this: http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/images/gatorgrip-wrench.jpg from here http://www.theyachtshop.co.uk/items/tools-and-hardware/hand-tools/spanners~sockets~pliers~wrenches/socket-gatorgrip-universal-h36015-detail.htm

ronttuk
why not go to a garage they have locking wheel nut remal tools or you could just buy a set. in my younger days living in east london we use to get a hammer and a coldchisel one hit in the right direction they use to spin off. Luka-P
I welded a nut on when I did a friends. Just run the outer sleave in first though. Or you could weld the sleave up and knock a socket over, both should work.
