Al Massey
to join the tanks instead. And there is nothing wrong with Tanks. Got all the luxury you need in one metal coffin
ivan
Ah however when you left you'd have been a young warrant officer on a decent pension. Leave the RAF at the same age and you'll still be a corporal lol.NAh, as a Tiffy apprentice I'd have been a ruddy hoccifer by the time I were trained. As it is, the pension does come in very handy though. And there is nothing wrong with Tanks. Got all the luxury you need in one metal coffin LOL True. Plenty of good memories and photos to look back on too.
dani_r
Well to be fair I went to Odiham for my career and rarely checked in anywhere. Did you operate on Chinooks? I'd like to be a Crewman on the Chinook, that's my ideal job, but not sure if I'll get it. I met a Puma crew from Aldregrove who stopped over on the IoM for some fuel, nice chaps, gave me loads of advice and made me want to join up more
dangerous brain
You need to be exceptionally good at maths to get through the loady training. Its one of the hardest courses in The RAF fwiw. Yes I operated on Chiooks for 14 years at Odiham on the various Sqns and second line. Loady is a great social job but not sure what qualifications you'd have when you leave lol. Be a better job to look at air eng instead IMO
